PUPPY CLASSES - 7 week course / Ages 10 weeks - 6 months

You’ve taken on a new permanent addition to your family. Although you’ve addressed the food and water issue, there are still many other responsibilities you have, to ensure your puppy grows up to be a happy, loving and dependable member of your family.

Bonding with your puppy is critically important for the first 6 months of its life. During this time the puppy will develop its social skills and is fully capable of learning the do’s and don’ts of the pack structure in which it will live for many years to come.

Puppy classes set you on the right track to a long lasting, fun loving lifetime with your new best friend. In the weeks to follow you will not only learn how your puppy should communicate with you but how you should communicate with it in a way he or she understands. With positive reinforcement and proper correction techniques we will work with you to teach your puppy socialization skills with other dogs and humans alike, housebreaking, how to deal with separation anxiety, general house behavior, the basic come, sit, give, and leave it commands. Want to take your puppy for a walk? We will teach you how to work with your puppy so that he or she walks nicely on a leash. Along the way we will also offer helpful ideas on grooming, general health care and nutrition, all of which will help give your puppy all the confidence he or she needs on the path to adulthood.

BASIC CLASSES - 7 week course / Ages 6 months and older

So your little puppy is now a BIG puppy. Not so impressionable but certainly coming into the adolescent stage of its life where you don’t want bad dog behavior to rule. Our basic class is put together in such a way that it focuses on the adolescent and adult dog. Fortunately the old saying, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” doesn’t hold true and your best friend is plenty apt to learning. This is where you will build an even closer bond with your best buddy and some undesirable habits will be replaced with new desirable ones. In a fun and very “hands-on” way, you will connect with your dog using positive reinforcement along with proper correction techniques to solidify a long lasting friendship between you and your dog.

The adolescent or adult dog is now at an age where it can do more with and without you. Your dog is at an age and possibly size where any bad puppy habits have now become reason for frequent headache. Patience is the key and basic class is where we address these problems. We teach you all you would have learned in puppy class but we throw on a few of the necessary obedience commands that the older dog can grasp. We will work with you to teach your dog to wait at the door, to come, sit, stay, lie down, off, give leave it and pay attention. We will show you how to teach your dog to walk nicely on a leash as well as give you helpful ideas on grooming, nutrition and general health care.

HIGHER LEARNING - 6 week course / 6 months and older

You want your dog to be a Rin Tin Tin or Lassie? Here’s where you get it. Working with your dog is a lifetime of commitment. Higher learning is geared towards just that. Whether you want your buddy totally responsible at the family picnic or shining in the professional obedience ring, here is where we start getting down to business.

Not only will we work with you training your dog to perfect the come, sit, down, and stay but it will all be done off leash. Here is where we work towards perfecting the ”heel” command as well as teach your dog to respond properly regardless of distractions.
